From vibrant city life to the open landscapes of the Yorkshire Moors, Wingfield’s evocative new album traces a journey through the landscapes and places real and imagined. The result is an album of beautiful melodies, exhilarating solos and sophisticated harmonies, featuring a group of some of Britain's best players.
“When writing each song, I visited a place or places in my mind, cities I’ve lived in, have friends in or know well, London, Boston, Paris, Berlin, Istanbul,” said Wingfield. “And as many places that are completely imaginary. But each time, in the music I return to the landscapes of my home country Britain. The Yorkshire Moors, Devon, the Fenlands – they act as an anchor, a returning place throughout the album.”
