Warm. Graceful. Rhythmical. This sound goes in deep. The four well-known musicians reveal their strong skill in blending African rhythms, jazz and Brazilian folk music into a fascinating and intimate aural experience. This group is well experienced, thanks to their very sensitive bassist Toni Schiavano, and manages to convince the audiences with its high-quality interpretations. It is worth mentioning the unusual line-up where we find a vibraphone (Dominik Alig), a soprano sax (Daniel "Bean" Bohnenblust) and the drums (Fabian Bürgi), which also gives the album its special sound. Last, but not least, the sound is underscored and personalised by the clear and sensitive compositions, which make TONEE uniquely recognisable. |
