Biography of Markus Lauterburg

Concert diploma with distinction at the Musikhochschule Lucerne, where he studied with Pierre Favre.

Markus Lauterburg composes for various ensembles. He is a member of the groups “Pierre Favre – The Drummers” and Matthias Müller’s “ensemble zero“, performs in a duo with the pianist Hans-Peter Pfammatter, gives solo recitals and takes part in numerous international meetings of improvised music. Together with the Bern cellist Till Wyler he provides the music to old silent films, with performances throughout Switzerland. In 2004 Markus Lauterburg founded the ensemble “conarco” for string quartet and percussion. Projects include work with Urban Mäder, Helena Winkelman, and Samuel Wettstein. Markus Lauterburg lives in Lucerne.
