Damien Argentieri is undoubtedly one of the most sought-after organ players in France. He plays the famous Hammond organ with extraordinary sensitivity and colour.
Fred Borey, excellent sax player with a warm and deep sound, adds to this trio a unique and very sensitive dimension.
Alain Tissot, the multi faceted Swiss drummer from the Jura region, represents the ideal link among these different styles. The music is very much based on Swing and leans on a high-quality musical structure. Unitrio conveys its energy in a sort of constant trilogy, in the search of unlikely spaces and colours...

06/01/2009 Donald Elfman, All About Jazz- New York

Unitrio’s Page 1 is a traditional organ-saxophone (tenor and soprano)-drums combo – Damien Argentieri, Frédéric Borey and Alain Tissot respectively. All bring tunes geared for the individual members as well as for the gestalt of the group. This trio has the lovely audacity to open the album with a gorgeous ballad, Argentieri’s “Judith” and she must be a special woman indeed. The tenor states the melody but the drums and organ offer up majestic accompaniment. Tissot introduces his “Like a Cat in the Snow” in which some classically-colored brief flashes lead into a jaunty and exotic main theme. What propels this music and makes this truly feel like a Unitrio - three-in-one, the trio as single unit - is the sense of organic yet orchestrated composition. Borey’s “Jack”, for example, has particularly long and involved phrases making up the thematic material, each player with an integral role in the ‘orchestral’ sound. The listener can identify with the basic sound of the trio but what these players do - individually and as part of the overall structure - is quite different.
