Biography of Will Butterworth
Will Butterworth was born in Edinburgh. His father is the violinist Oliver Butterworth and when Will was 8 he took up the cello, but spent much of his teens improvising on the piano. Whilst studying for a degree in Genetics, Will started playing Jazz and was drawn to a career in Music. Will now lives in London where he has worked with many of Britain’s leading Jazz artists including Dylan Howe (with whom he collaborated, re-interpreting the works of Stravinsky). His current projects include The Will Butterworth, the Tournesol Trio, Henrik Jenson's 'Followed by 13' and The Bonfire Band
