01/01/1997 Rough Guide To Jazz | This is a very refreshing quartet album, with nine excellent compositions by Speake, full of invention and variety, yet with a homogeneous identity so that they seem to make an hour-long suite. His improvisations are lyrical, often understated, but leavened on occasion by harmonically wayward melodic lines. Parricelli and the rhythm section are also very fine.
