Biography of Loz Speyer
Loz Speyer was founder and co-leader of the innovative 11-piece band Rare Mix, with Jason Yarde and Brian Abrahams. He has also worked with Clifford Jarvis, Hugh Metcalfe, Test Department, Sarah Jane Morris, Steve Buckley, John Bennett Band, Disassembler, and in Cuba with Inaudis Paisán, Orquesta Chepín-Chovén. His quartet with NYC drummer Tony Bianco toured the UK extensively and recorded CD Two Kinds of Blue. Speyer also writes for Inner Space Music, a quartet with Chris Biscoe, Julie Walkington and Seb Rochford: CD 'Five Animal Dances' will be out soon.
