"An exquisite program of engaging songs the group discovered during their travels around the world. Sung in three languages – English, French and Spanish – Lynn’s beautiful vocals open the program with “La Mer” known to the English-speaking audiences as Bobby Darin’s smash hit “Beyond the Sea.” With a brief ditty of “Blue Moon” whistled into the intro, Ms. Veronneau sings the lyrics in French and Dave Kline’s violin adds a touch of gypsy jazz. “Gentle Rain” the Luis Bonfa hit, gets a lovely solo from saxophonist Jeff Antoniuk as the breezy Brazilian bossa backbeat provided by Pete Walby lends an airy ambience to Veronneau’s English lyrics. Classical guitar and violin meld with Lynn’s warm vocals and elegant phrasing on “For No One” while the Jobim classic “Corcovado” is interpreted in beautiful swaying tones that you’re sure to enjoy. Joie de Vivre is a lovely find and one that should be in your music collection".
