As musicians we steadily and consistently keep working at our craft, striving to achieve a better understanding of the music we are passionate about. I've always loved 'standards' and being a singer that likes to improvise on 'chord changes' they're a great vehicle. The arrangements for this album have just evolve sitting around the piano, exchanging ideas - usually Robin comes up with some inspirational idea and we play around with it - you know "try and test", and if we like it, it sticks.

It is a great joy to work with such a consummate musician, a great soloist and a wonderfully supportive accompanist. It makes such a difference in a musical environment when the emphasis is on teamwork. It forms the very basis of what this band is about. It's a pleasure to work with the talents of bass player, Jez Brown - a wonderful soloist and a solid groove.

This album features two drummers that I love to work with. Gene Calderazzo, an exciting drummer not afraid to take risks, a true improviser - he always grooves. And Mark Taylor who now resides in New York - a sensational swinging drummer with a great feel.

UNTIL THE STARS FADE gets its title from the rarely sung second set of lyrics in "People will say we're in love" - by Rogers and Hammerstein, which I would like to dedicate to Emily for listening to over and over again! For me personally this album represents an expression of everything I have learnt to date. It is a realization that the goal to reach my full potential is an ongoing process. What I realize now, is that it is the process itself that I love and continue to be passionate about. - Anita Wardell
