Biography of Tony Woods

The album has been well received by audiences & critics alike.

''Tony Woods is, above all, a contemporary jazz musician. As a composer his work is rooted in modern grooves, as a saxophonist & improviser he has that assuredness & command that allows for the music to emerge from spaces & silences, & he has the raw passionate edge & tender lyricism which allows him to travel where he will in the music. He is a natural alto player, & his atmospheric & loose compositions allow the musicians to flow around the structures in the spirit of improvisation, groove & vocalisation which is jazz:root & branch.''

Tim Whitehead, jazz musician and saxophone player.

''It is good to hear jazz that succeeds in being individualistic and draws on a range of non-American forms and styles with skill, imagination and elan"

Duncan HeiningI Avant Magazine.

''This is now jazz of excellent quality''

John Critchinson, Musician Magazine

''Highly inventive.....Fresh, lively, interesting....and well worth checking out''
