Julian Costello plays tenor and soprano saxophones and composes the music. Some of the tunes are very structured and carefully notated while others are very much left to chance. All the tracks are recorded "live" except for some obvious over-dubs. This is their heritage, to jam, to share ideas and to see what happens. The temptation with the access to such incredible music technology to over sanitise and clean up mistakes has been avoided here. If you don’t like or can’t take the rough edges then stay slim and clean-shaven.
