Biography of BB Cooper

Classically trained pianist BB Cooper was originally a translator in French and German and returned to music to graduate in Performance Arts.

BB’s recent CD recordings are “Saracubana – The Stewart Curtis Trio plays BB Cooper” and “.The Music of BB Cooper featuring the Best of British Vocal Jazz”, produced and arranged by Ian Shaw. Her new album “Uneasy Street” (featuring Barb Jungr and Ian Shaw with lyrics by Barb, Andrew Emerson and Don Percival), also produced and arranged by Ian Shaw, has been released as a download.

Solo compositions include a choral ballet, “The Golem” and themes and variations for piano.

A founder member of Mercury Musical Developments, she has written the music for shows including “The Jungle Book” (book adaptation by Stuart Paterson and lyrics by Barb Jungr) which is currently in the West End for Christmas and the New Year and continuing to tour through 2006, “Bronte” (book and lyrics by Peter Spafford) , “Goblins Don’t Scare Us” (book and lyrics by Nigel Osner), “The Beast with Two Brains” (book and lyrics by Ken Hill), “Busker Boys” (book and lyrics by Julian Tennant) and “Don’t Shoot – I’m an Angel” (book and lyrics by Chris Burgess).
