Originally a demonstration recording made at Salford University, this first appearance on CD has the benefit of remastered sound by Richard Scott, Manchester.
The beautiful Yamaha grand quality was faithfully captured on Mike Gluyas' original tapes, and the album is designed for late-night listening. These are tasteful improvisations without the big fanfares. |

16/10/2008 Gudbrandsdalen Dagningen, Norway | Dickenson plays with an outstanding feeling for the melodies he selects, with contrast between the most calm, simple blues melancholy and the fresh, boogie-inspired numbers which take in use the whole range of the keyboard. It feels almost almost wrong to give Dickenson top marks for every CD he gives out. Truth is that he never releases anything that doesn't attain top quality..... |
