Kevin Brady Trio featuring U.S. Pianist Bill Carrothers


Dublin based drummer Kevin Brady has been performing professionally for many years with the Hammond organ group Organics and is also a member of the critically acclaimed piano trio led by Phil Ware. He began studying drums at 19 at Newpark Music Centre, from there he continued his studies in New York, where his teachers were Kim Plainfield and Bobby Sanabrias; previous teachers have included Jeff Ballard, Ben Perowsky, Matt Wilson, Eliot Zigmund and Keith Copeland.

In recent years he has performed with International jazz musicians : Ulf Wakenius (Guitar) Ian Shaw (Vocalist/Pianist), Danny Moss (Saxophone), Jesse Davis (Saxophone) Guy Barker ( Trumpet ) Jim Mullen (guitar), Bobby Watson (alto), John Eckart (Trumpet) Tim Ries (Saxophone) Alan Barnes (Sax) Sandro Gibellini (Guitar) Giovanni Mirabassi (Piano) Ron Anthony (Guitar) and on the home front has worked with Van Morrison jazz guitarist Louis Stewart, vocalist Honor Heffernan and more recently with singer/songwriter Dave Geraghty (BellX1).

In 2004 he performed at the Sydney Opera House, Australia, with the award winning contemporary Irish group, Grada. In addition to his recording and performing work he currently teaches drumkit and ensemble performance on the BA Degree in Jazz studies at Newpark Music Centre,Dublin.
In 2008, he became an endorsed artist for Bosphorus Cymbals.

After two critically acclaimed Tours of Ireland in 2007 Brady continued his collaboration with the innovative U.S.pianist/composer Bill Carrothers.
Carrothers is quite exceptional in this setting, having recorded with many acclaimed trios. Recording with luminaries such as Gary Peacock, Bill Stewart, Drew Gress, Ari Hoenig... This is a rare opportunity for audiences to hear some fine exponents of the jazz piano trio as some of Ireland's leading talents meet one of the USA's great modern jazz musicians.
