Cardiff based free improvisational quartet Full Circle first appeared on the scene late last year and immediately began creating music of an expressive, exciting and unpredictable nature. Having met at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama they confidently draw upon their training in classical and jazz music whilst also incorporating their passion for contemporary composition, the avant-garde, world music, rock and dance, bringing a fresh new edge to the world of jazz and free improvisation. In August 2004, Full Circle released their debut album 'Explorations', via the Red Eye Music label, which comprised of two live concerts they performed with Keith Tippett and other concentrated studio sessions they had done over the previous year. Their album was received to critical acclaim being described as the next generation of improvisers under the Paul Dunmall Moksha Big Band. Keith Tippett first introduced the members of Full Circle to the world of free improvisation while at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and continues to inspire them with his passion and dedication to the art form, helping the group to think beyond the generic traditions of jazz and find a sound that is distinctly their own. |
