Lizzie Scott has a sweet, fresh voice and the kind of style jazz musicians love - direct and nicely phrased, with no showy tricks. And you only have to hear her sing, "You go to my head" or "Someone to watch over me" to know how well she understands the art of the ballad.

Lizzie shares the limelight with Lew Hooper - tenor saxophonist, unsung hero of British jazz and devotee of Lester Young. I was amazed to discover that this is Lew's very first recording.

Add to these the always apt and tasteful piano of John China and the swinging bass-and-drums team of Murray Salmon and Dennis Smith and you have exactly the right ingredients for a perfect session"
