The "Latin Jazz Project" is the youngest child of tenorsaxophonist Martin Buergi.
For this record he chose one of
the best latino rhythm sections around (Dudu Penz on bass and
Julio Barreto on drums) and rounded it off with a "strong"
Franck Tortiller on marimba and vibes.
This unusual choice of instrumentation for this style of music
(marimba/vibes instead of piano), gives the band a new, unique sound.
The tunes (mostly originals) are ranging from up tempo latin to
groovy montunos to lyrical ballads, played in a fresh, powerful,
modern way by a bunch of guys who love to play music and enjoy playing together! |
