Biography of Bovet Brothers & Friends

"Brothers" and "Friends" are not just words; they take their full meaning for whoever listens to the interplay one perceives in this family CD. The arrangements worked out by the mind of a unifying father are meant to induce conversation and communication in every sequence of the present pieces. Samuel Blaser's mellow trombone sound proves to be a very valuable contribution to the basic quartet; his powerful drive provides additional strength and warmth to the whole. The saxophone of C├ędric Bovet follows the design of the different melodies with both resilience and force, knowing when to take the lead of to recede to the background. As for Peter Bockius, he supports the whole performance with the unfailing, yet supple, robustness of his bass-lines. Ever attentive to his partners, Lucien Bovet likes to converse with the soloists and his drumming provides substantial support to the melodies. On the piano, Philippe Bovet accompanies and completes these twelve family pictures with his sense of nuance and color.
