“More Harmony” is a new project built around original compositions brightened by Ariane Besson’s generous piano playing. It is also a token of faithfulness to the musical collaboration I kept up with Denis Favrichon and Christophe Berthet since quite a few years. This new repertoire also reflects the more mature and collected state of mind I have reach and, in these troubled times, it expresses a sincere wish for more harmony. Let’s feel better!!!

- Some of these compositions privilege the harmonic aspect of music. More room has been given to chords development and consequently, the integration of the piano to our previous triangular set up is essential.
- The use of 6/8, 12/8, or 3/4 types of beat is also a characteristic of this repertoire. I like these ternary rhythms, spinning, rolling and giving to the band a sensation of whirling.
- Modal music has been a constant of our previous work. This kind of music gives us the strength and energy where my partners and myself can find our inspiration and express our pleasure at playing music together.

Beyond words, LW4 “More Harmony” wishes to pass on in a coherent and intense way, a personal kind of music to witch each musician brings his vitality and creativity. Improvisation and complicity are part of it as much as the fun of playing and my hope for a better world… (Laurent WYLER)
