Biography of Gemini

Featuring four of London's top young musicians Jim Hart's Gemini has been attracting much interest on the British jazz scene over the past two years.

Jim Hart's talent extends beyond the vibraphone to drums and piano. Playing the role of both rhythm section player and soloist has given Jim a deep melodic, harmonic and rhythmic understanding. This is very evident in his music, which is strong in all three of these essential musical elements. Jim's eclectic style of writing artfully balances extended melodic forms with open improvisation in tunes that could be described as epic. His experience as a percussionist and drummer is displayed in the music with many groove-based pieces and odd meters as well as well as hard hitting swing.

The band has featured in the London Jazz Festival and headlined at The Paradise Jazz Festival, Cyprus and their UK tour begins 29/01/07.
