Biography of Michael Cotton & Nikola Monfort
A trip back to the golden era of Jazz, close harmonies, saxophone solos and bluesy trumpets.
Nikola Monfort and Michael Cotton met whilst performing in the hit musical "Oliver". They both have a wealth of experience on the stage and decided to create this album as a tribute to two of the greatest writers of the 1900s, Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer. Nikola trained as a singer and dancer and started singing jazz at the tender age of 18. She was brought up listening to jazz legends such as Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee so feels very much influenced by this background. Michael trained as an actor, singer and dancer at GSA and has been performing in cabarets and shows since a young age. His influences range from Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin through to more modern jazz vocalists such as Michael Buble. Michael and Nikola have always loved the music of yesteryear and have created an album of close harmonies, big band sounds and smooth saxophone solos.
