This is the debut album from young Jazz vocalist Louise Dodds. The album incorporates Louise's love of both classic bebop tunes and the beautiful ballads of the American Songbook, with tunes ranging from Dizzy Gillespie's A Night in Tunisia through to Gershwin's How Long Has This Been Going On?
Since its release, her eponymous album has received great acclaim, and was quickly picked up and aired by both BBC Radio Scotland and BBC Radio Leeds. She was also instantly invited to perform at London's Pizza on the Park and received a return invite on the back of her debut show.
Also performing on the album are some of the best jazz musicians in Scotland: Ed Kelly (double bass), Paul Mills (drums) and Tom Scott (piano). |
