Listening to Ornette Coleman’s touching Ballad „Lonely Woman“, you dive into an unknown woman’s emotions. Her lament provokes a strong and unforgettable picture.
The same kind of pictures are shown in art museums, and we can just speculate upon the biographies of these women.
The new CD from the trio "close-up" tells musical stories about woman portraits painted by Gaugin, Picasso, Vermeer ... Renata Friederichs husband Rolf Lenzin, a painter himself, translated the selected paintings into beautiful words.
The presented compositions by Rätus Flisch, Markus Portenier and Renata Friederich were inspired by these lyrics and the original paintings.
Renata Friederich and her wonderful musical companions created a sensual and intimate work of art, which allows a new approach to some of the most beautiful woman portraits. |
