Biography of Twilight Conversations

Peter Zihlmann was born 1977 in Sursee/Switzerland. During his school time he had classical lessons but soon also became interested in Pop music and improvisation in general, which eventually brought him to Jazz. After graduating from high school he studied Jazz piano and vocals at the Musikhochschule Luzern. After that he persued further studies in Amsterdam.At the moment he works as a freelance musician. Besides his engagements as a pianist/keyboarder and singer in many different groups in the field of Jazz, HipHop, Pop and Electronics he becomes also more and more active as a composer/arranger, mainly for his own groups (a-capella, Jazz trio) and for scenic music (theater, circus and musical). For the program of his own trio "Troja" he recieved the "Special Prize for Best Composition" at the Montreux Chrystler Jazz Award in 2003.
