Biography of Pius Baschnagel Influences

Born 1970, begins to play drums at the age of 10.
By the age of 20, classes at Jazz School Zürich with Andy
Brugger. Studies at Musicians Institute (PIT) in L.A. California, Special award „Vocational“, nominated for Jazzplaying Student of the year 1994.
Further studies in Cuba with Enrique Pla (Irakere), Masterclass with Lewis Nash.
1999: 3rd place „national drummers“ in the Jazz readers poll of the magazine „Jazz‘n’more“.
2001: Diploma SMPV.
2004 Winner of the Cultureprize in the city of Illnau-Effretikon.
