Biography of Jane Parker
Inspired by the likes of Billie Holliday and Dinah Washington, Jane cut her musical teeth singing in the bars and drinking clubs in Londons West End. She is best known for her work with Lush Life whose musical adventures of heart ache and redemption were captured on the album alligator Lounge (33 Records) and whose live work included residencies at Ronnie Scotts, London, Cafe de Paris and Le Cafconce in Casablanca.
'A Whisper of Love A Whisper of Hate" is her first solo album and is inspired by her love of old movies. The nine tracks include well known and lesser known standards and also three original numbers. Excerts can be heard at myspace.com/janeparkerquartet
She works extensively in and around the West End performing regularly at venues which include Quaglinos in Mayfair, the Boisdale Club in Belgravia and the Cafe de Paris. She also sings each month at the 606 Club in Chelsea as the featured vocalist with Al Wynettes band.
