Biography of Modern Jazz Trio

New outfit featuring John Horler, who is, in the words of Observer critic Dave Gelly, "one of the finest jazz pianists that Britain has ever produced". John has worked with many jazz greats - most memorably Chet Baker, Zoot Sims, Bob Brookmeyer, Victor Feldman, Tony Coe and Kenny Wheeler.
Mike Smith was the drummer with the BBC Big Band for many years, and is a Big Band and session drummer of distinction, as well as a swinging, solid anchorman in a small ensemble. He has interpretive skills that are almost magical!
Sam Burgess is rapidly building a name for himself and becoming first-choice bassist for many bands. He is a member of James Pearson's house band at Ronnie Scott's jazz Club, and is one of the most inventive bass players around today.
