Reflection

Few notes. Just few notes are enough to understand that for Giulio this record is not the same as the other ones. It represents a fundamental arriving and at the same time a restarting point of his creative parable (journey), which, since the beginning has a rare formal coherence. In the seven tracks of Musaik we find indeed everything of Giulios sound poetic. In fact it is a kind of Factory label of his most numerous groups, and in some way we find all his previous works: the romantic interplay of “My first pair of glasses”, first evidence of his maturity as a composer, the energy of the Quartet with Michael Rosen and the onyric elegance of his piano “Dreams”, which is reflected in the introduction of “Inspired by you” nourished with the cultivated elegance, so well condensed in the collaborations with the flautist Christian Gilardi. Recently he became more sophisticated by composing an authentic concert for jazz quartet and symphonic Orchestra. A score played originally by the Giulio Granati Quartet featuring Marco Tamburini on trumpet, but here it appears from a complete new prospective. Thanks to a well selected group, Giulio manages to have them play as if they were a real Orchestra with an arrangement for Sextet of Andante, Allegro and Presto. Reflection is a wonderful theme transformed during the years by Giulio into an authentic personal standard, so well performed by his band, formed by different generations of musicians from the Italian part of Switzerland: the talented inspiration of the young Max Pizio and the dynamic knowledge of the much more experienced Danilo Moccia.
