Metheny and Jarrett influenced which seems deeply ingrained in his composing and abundantly blessed with the gift of melody, plus a built in musicality all his own. Another facet to Paul’s playing is his natural feel for flowing improvisation, indeed his pieces seem to have the lingering, lyrical timbre that’s borne out of his natural ability to take a tune and make it blossom into one colorful but coherent story telling.
