Tour of Scotland with Scottish Ensemble and World Premiere of "Point of Contact"
2007-04-22 20:28:26 | GWILYM will be embarking on a week long tour at the end of April with the Scottish Ensemble as featured soloist and will be performing a new commission that he has written specially for the tour. The commission, "Point of Contact", will feature Gwilym on piano and young percussion virtuoso Ben Bryant on vibraphone.
On 5th May Gwilym's big band will be at Cheltenham Jazz Festival to perform "The Lichfield Suite" originally commissioned for last year's Lichfield Festival. The band includes John Parricelli, Stan Sulzmann, Julian Siegel, Mark Lockheart, Noel Langley, Laurence Cottle, Martin France and many other great players. This will be recorded in the studio on 7th May for later broadcast on BBC Radio 3's "Jazz on 3".
