Private producers for BBC

With the advent of practically all the Jazz programmes on BBC Radio 3 now being produced by Somethin-Else Productions, they have been given the power to say yes or no to any artist. In Trevor Watts' case they have told him that he is not a Jazz artist, and therefore that amounts to a virtual ban on Trevor performing on the BBC. Yet they telephoned Trevor to ask him to take part in a Paul Rutherford memorial programme which Trevor refused to do owing to his questioning of their competence to do a good job in that respect, given their judgement on whether what he plays now is Jazz or not. I would say that Trevor has a much better idea than these guys, having been involved in the music for so much longer, in fact it's surprising that they didn't ask for advice rather than imposing their misguided values on the situation. A Pity.

MySpace site

Shawn Vinson, promoter of the concert in Atlanta enjoyed the music we played so much that he set up this MySpace site by the time we arrived home. The concert at Eddie's Attic was very successful, and especially as the club normally hosts singer/songwriters not Jazz.

Tours & recordings

The Trevor Watts/Jamie Harris Duo have just completed a very successful tour in the USA & Canada (Oct 2007). Concerts included Seattle Jazz Festival, Eddie's Attic in Atlanta and New York's Hudson View Gardens as part of the All About Jazz Magazine's concert series and many other concerts in cities like Detroit, Baltimore & Portland. They will be returning for another tour in May 2008. Before then Trevor & Jamie will go to Brasil for a return visit to the 500 seater SESI Theatre in Sao Paulo for two concerts in December 2007.
New recordings will be issued soon from Trevor's archive that will feature him with violinist Peter Knight of Steeleye Span in a duet that will be released by Hi4HeadRecs. There will also soon be a release of Trevor's initial Moire Music 10 piece recording on FMR and another CD on Hi4Headrecs of his original Drum Orchestra from 1989 called "Drum Energy".
