GREAT SPIRIT on BBC Radio 3, Fri 13 April 07
2007-03-29 14:25:34 | This 'Jazz on Three' broadcast , originally planned for 19 January, has now been re-scheduled. It's a live recording of pianist Tim Richards' nine-piece band GREAT SPIRIT, recorded at The Sage Gateshead during the band's UK tour last November. The gig will be on air between 11.30pm and 1.00am, and the broadcast also includes an interview with Tim.
The set features original material from both GREAT SPIRIT CDs, plus some new numbers. Line-up includes top Finnish saxman Jari Perkomaki, with Ed Jones, Tony Kofi, Dick Pearce, Roger Beaujolais, Leon Stenning, Chris Dodd and Dave Smith.
The broadcast can also be heard at www.bbc.co.uk/radio3 for about a week afterwards. |
