Colour Beginnings @ The London Jazz Festival
2011-08-12 16:49:53 | Tim Whitehead's Colour Beginnings will feature in a special concert at the home of Turner's artistic career, The Royal Academy Of Art, in The London Jazz Festival, on saturday 19th November. The work , featuring music written from spontaneous improvisations recorded in front of the famous "Colour Beginnings" works which inspired Rothko, Hockney and many other artists, while Tim was artist in residence at Tate Britain in 2009, and has been touring in Autumn 2010 and spring/summer 2011.
The performance is accompanied by projections of the works which inspired the music.
The work will also be performed in the festival at The Arts Depot in North Finchley on the 18th November.
Tim's residency at Tate Britain in 2009 was funded by The Leverhulme Trust and touring in 2011 has been funded by awards from Arts Council England and PRS Foundation. |
