BBC Jazz Awards Best Album 2007

The Neil Cowley Trio celebrated late into the night as they received the much coveted award for BEST ALBUM at the 2007 BBC Jazz Awards, held at the Mermaid Theatre on July 12th.

Having faced fierce competion from album’s by the likes of Fraud, Soweto Kinch and Tom Cawley’s Curios, the trio’s debut recording Displaced was recognised by they UK’s jazz industry and music lovers in this public vote.

Following his live performance at the ceremony in London, Neil Cowley said... "There are three massive compliments for me to cherish here tonight. Firstly, the public had a hand in the voting for this award. Secondly, I was nominated by the great and good of the music media and industry. Thirdly, Richard E.Grant said hello to me on the stairs. Thank you for all three!"
