DERBYSHIRE SUITE - JET COLLECTIVE COLLABORATION WEEKEND & SHOW
2011-06-23 08:40:33 | Performance Sun 26th June, Stanton Village Hall, Stanton in Peak, Derbyshire, DE4 2LX8pm. £5
Eight musicians from the JET Collective (including 3 from ZOO) will spend a weekend inventing a new suite of music inspired by Derbyshire Landscapes and then performing it on the Sunday evening - who knows what will happen? Jet Collective is a recently formed group of professional Derbyshire jazz musicians who have come together to collaborate and explore musical opportunities outside our usual bands.
Our first venture will take place on the weekend of June 25th and 26th when the musicians will gather in Stanton in Peak Village Hall to invent and rehearse a new piece of music inspired by the varied Derbyshire landscapes. Rather grandly, we call it the Derbyshire Suite. We will premiere the new music on the Sunday evening and hope later to take it on tour.
You are invited (with a modest donation of £5) to come and hear and see what we produce. It should be an experience to remember.
The musicians are Steve Salfield and Sara Littlefield on saxophones, Reg Clegg on guitar and bass, voice and production, Pat Sprakes on guitar and double bass, Paul Biggins on keyboard, bass and guitar, Wendy Kirkland on keyboard and vocals, Karen Clegg on vocals, piano and melodica, Clive Loveday on drums.
We don’t have any idea what we will produce so it’s high risk for us and for you if you come to listen! So live dangerously and I hope you can make it. I mean, what’s the worst that can happen?
