Reviews of Kate Dimbleby
18/05/2002 Sarah Hemming, The Financial Times | She has a wonderful rich, warm, dark voice. | 18/04/2002 Charles Spencer, The Daily Telegraph | Dimbleby's range is gratifyingly wide. Clearly a talent to watch. | 17/12/2000 The Times | The voice rings true on every number. Dimbleby captures that elusive stage persona, an ageless mixture of Snow White and Mae West | 25/07/2000 Clive Davis, The Times | One of the most versatile singers on the jazz-blues circuit. | 11/12/0001 Sunday Times | Curvy and Swervy, Belting and Melting. | 14/08/0001 The Scotsman | I think I'm in love. Kate Dimbleby has come out from under her Peggy Lee wig and takes centre stage in the cabaret bar and a three-piece suit. It was said about Fred and Ginger "she gave him sex and he gave her class". Well Kate Dimbleby has both already and it is a killer combination.
Talking of which, so is her band. Jonty Fisher on bass, Ben Reynolds on drums and Julian Hinton on keyboards not only play brilliantly, but manage a cheeseboard of backing vocals and a variety of accessories with the kind of sense of humour that can get a boy flung out of the musician's union. | 10/08/0001 The Daily Telegraph | it's that extraordinary voice - treacy and sleepy at rest, filling the room with feeling when she turns it on. |
