Reviews of Tal Babitzky
13/10/2010 Elliot Coe | I did predict it - and it has come true! Tal Babitzky launches his third album - "Moments" and it is everything that one could hope for from an intelligent, international composer/arranger/keyboard artist. So what do we have here? I would safely say that this is an album that everyone can enjoy. It is smooth – but I would certainly not call it “smooth jazz”. Rather, it is pleasant and melodic with a European flavor that hints to Tal’s classical upbringing. This album is all acoustic and boasts a lineup of nearly 18 different sidemen who have been assembled to deliver a fine touch to each track. From straight-ahead to light samba and French chanson, it all comes together in a rich tapestry of sound, ambitious but unpretentious, and leaving a taste for more. To sum it up, I would say that it is thoroughly enjoyable from first play and grows on you as you listen more. Keep up the good work Tal!
